Postdoc in the Czarske Group Receives Award from the Gisela and Erwin Sick Foundation

Jiawei Sun, a postdoctoral researcher in the group of PoL associate Jürgen Czarske at TU Dresden has been awarded a bursary from the Gisela and Erwin Sick Foundation.

We are delighted to highlight another outstanding achievement from scientists in our PoL network! In May 2024, in the research group of PoL associate group leader Jürgen Czarske, this year’s Gisela and Erwin Sick Foundation’s University Prize for Measurement Systems Engineering was awarded to Dr Jiawei Sun from the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering.

To promote research in the natural sciences and engineering at TU Dresden, the Gisela and Edwin Sick Foundation annually awards 3 prizes, worth a total of 10,000 euros. Jiawei’s PhD dissertation was titled “Learning-based Three-Dimensional Optical Cell Rotation Tomography and Quantitative Phase Imaging Using Multi-Core Fibers". The thesis was voted best in the measurement systems category at TU Dresden, and awarded 5000 euros. The award ceremony took place on May 3rd, 2024.
