ERC Grants Conceded to Three PoL Members

Agnes Toth-Petroczy, Alexander von Appen, and Ricard Alert receive funds to launch their own projects.

The European Research Council (ERC) has announced that 400 early-career top researchers across Europe will receive starting grants. The grants, totaling 628 million euros, enable the best young researchers in Europe to build their own teams and conduct pioneering research across all disciplines.

Three PoL-associated members have been granted. Ricard Alert, from Max Planck Institute for the Physics of Complex Systems (MPI PKS), received a grant for his proposal “The Spectrum of Fluctuations in Living Matter,” and from Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics (MPI-CBG), Agnes Toth-Petroczy, and Alexander von Appen received grants for the projects “Evolution of Biomolecular Condensates” and “Mechanisms of nuclear self-assembly,” respectively.
