Award-Winning “Bright Minds. Excellent Research.” Series Spotlights Prof. Otger Campas and Dr. Rita Mateus

The “Bright Minds. Excellent Research.” series, showcasing exceptional scientists from TU Dresden, has received the prestigious Intermedia-globe Gold Award. This remarkable series provides a captivating glimpse into the groundbreaking work of researchers at the TUD, including researchers from the Institute Physics of Life (PoL).

The highly acclaimed “Bright Minds. Excellent Research.” series has been honored with the prestigious Intermedia-globe Gold Award at the 2023 WorldMediaFestivals in the “Corporate Communications” category. For 23 years, the WorldMediaFestivals have recognized excellence in global media, focusing on audio-visual, print, and online productions in the realms of information, education, and entertainment.

In celebration of TU Dresden’s 10-year anniversary as one of Germany's eleven Universities of Excellence, the “Bright Minds. Excellent Research.” film was produced in collaboration with AVANGA Filmproduktion in 2022. This remarkable film provides a captivating glimpse into the cutting-edge research conducted by scientists at TU Dresden. Their shared vision is to leverage their findings to tackle global challenges, seeking knowledge for life that benefits us all.

Since February 2023, the “Bright Minds” series has been featuring a different protagonist from the film each month in short video clips, highlighting their perspectives on excellence. We are delighted to share the joy of this award with everyone involved in the film’s creation and extend our special thanks to the dedicated researchers for their participation!

Among the exceptional researchers featured in the “Bright Minds. Excellent Research.” series are Prof. Otger Campas and Dr. Rita Mateus from the Institute Physics of Life (PoL) at TU Dresden.

Dr. Rita Mateus, a quantitative developmental biologist, holds a position shared between PoL and the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics (MPI-CBG) and Prof. Otger Campas, the Chair of Tissue Dynamics and spokesperson for PoL, leads the research group “Physics of Embryonic Self-Organization and Morphogenesis.”
